Wild Linker 0.10 Released With GDB Index Support, Mitigation For Btrfs Performance
Wild 0.10 adds --gdb-index, embedding a symbol index that lets GDB start faster, and avoids memory-mapping output files on Btrfs and VFAT where that was hurting build performance. The Rust linker also begins 32-bit support, expands its WebAssembly linking coverage, and lets libwild operate entirely in memory.
This is a focused systems release: it improves the edit-link-debug loop without pretending that filesystem-specific workarounds replace choosing a suitable build filesystem. Phoronix has only a brief comment thread so far.
