Yes, Opus is currently stronger model than Astra, but also 2 to 3 times more expensive end to end. If I was to pay api prices, I would definitely not go with Opus, and “settle” on Astra. And API users are the ones bringing most of the revenue.

Sub users can all migrate to to Anthropic and OpenAI might getting ahead business-wise. I don’t know why it’s not obvious for everyone.

Having said that - good for people who can switch. I’m stuck with Codex because of custom harness. I’m not going to cry about it, just because it’s a bit worse.
